Zohran Mamdani Pledges a 'Fresh Chapter' for NYC in First Speech
On his first day in office, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “reinvent” the metropolis, ushering in “a fresh chapter” and an audacious commencement to his tenure.
A Historic Mayor
The 34-year-old figure, who just a year ago remained a virtually unknown state assemblyman, has become the city's first Muslim mayor. He also made history by being the first to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.
